실망스러운 중국 정례 인권 검토 보고서

사우디아라비아, 케냐, 헝가리 3국은 중국 내 인권에 대한 여러 나라들의 견해를 단순히 나열하는 수준의 보고서를 제출했다. 어떠한 입장 표명도 없었다.

미국은 연례 인권 보고에서 중국을 최악의 인권 유린국으로 지목하고, 위구르족과 파룬궁 및 전능하신 하나님 교회 신자들에게 자행되고 있는 고문에 대해 비난의 목소리를 냈다.

사우디아라비아와 중국이 280억 달러에 상당하는 협력 협정을 맺은 상황에서 사우디 주도의 트로이카는 중국 인권 기록에 대한 최종 판결을 내릴 예정이다.

유엔 회원국들은 5년에 한 번 유엔으로부터 인권 기록 심의를 받는다. 중국의 다음 심의 날짜는 11월 6일로, 중국에 관한 첫 해당 보고서는 중국의 끔찍한 종교 자유 침해를 집중 조명한다.
